I haven’t posted in forever because me and a couple friends are starting a new website together, so I’ve been saving for it, but it’s taken WAY longer than expected. We hope to have it up very soon, so stay tuned.

Me and Keagan tried to make it out to the industrial area of sherwood park for sunrise this morning.. we didn’t quite make it, but I still got some shots in with the colorful sky:

We booked a late tee time, good way to waste a couple hours, I brought the camera along.

Took my camera to work with me the other day, here are a few shots I took on the way there, and while I was there. I’m going to try to bring a camera with me EVERYWHERE as often as I can, so that I can post something more often than I have been. We’ll see how much of a hassle bringing it all with me turns out to be

I liked the way their level coordinated with the pyramids at the Muttart Conservatory:

These are my new polarized RayBan Wayfarers in a tortoise finish that I bought for my trip to India, and for the summer. They are amazingly comfortable, and the polarized lenses make an incredible difference, it really surprised me, and I’m very happy I bought them.

So I went to Canadian Tire the other day, and realized they were selling expired film for $0.50/roll.. so I bought everything they had, about 50 rolls, so I guess I’ll be doing a lot more of this stuff, I like it a lot. These are a few more from last week:

The last one is a panorama that i managed by not advancing the film far enough, they turned out better than expected,

I was thinking the other day how cool it would be to be able to expose an entire 35mm negative through my medium format camera. Medium format is about 1.5x times bigger than 35mm, so if I loaded 35mm film into a medium format camera, technically it should expose the entire negative, sprocket holes and all. So I did some reading online, and it seems that this is a pretty popular modification to do to a Holga camera. It’s quite simple, just some elastics, foam, and electrical tape. I really like the results, here are a few form a couple test rolls that I just shot on the way to the store and back. Should be some more interesting subject matter to come later.

So I took out the ol’ Holga to the bar on the last day of school, just to see what it could come up with. Somehow, I actually managed to shoot the whole roll of film, AND take it out safely, AND not lose it! I was amazed. Anyway, I really like how they turned out, I tried some new things, and they worked out well. One of the nice things about my Holga is that it has a bulb mode. This lets you keep the shutter open for as long as you press it down. This is how the light trails are created. It also lets you do double exposure, which can create some cool effects, anyway, here they are. Comment if you like them!

Until next time,
Dylan
After a week of +15 weather, us Albertans were greeted with a week of horrible, blizzardey, snowey, and miserable days. I thought summer was here, and was just counting the days until the tennis courts would be back up. Looks like it will be a few more days.. blah. Anyway, here are a few of my last (hopefully) winter photos for this season.

And no post is complete without cats, here are two thirds of the trio:

Until next time, hopefully a sunny next time,
Dylan
Couple more quick ones from tonight, are you sick of me yet?
