So.. winter’s back. Surprise!

21 04 2008

After a week of +15 weather, us Albertans were greeted with a week of horrible, blizzardey, snowey, and miserable days. I thought summer was here, and was just counting the days until the tennis courts would be back up. Looks like it will be a few more days.. blah. Anyway, here are a few of my last (hopefully) winter photos for this season.

And no post is complete without cats, here are two thirds of the trio:

Until next time, hopefully a sunny next time,

Horse jumping practice photos

13 04 2008

This summer, I’m going to be photographing several horse jumping shows around Edmonton. I know nothing about horse shows, so I got my friend Sarah (www.smavrophoto.com) to show me the ropes at a small show west of Edmonton today. I learned the patterns, the scoring, the order, and other generally useful bits of knowledge to help me prepare for the summer.
The photos are relatively repetitive, so I’ll just post a couple from the show. I also included a few that I took while they were warming up.

Feeling adequately prepared for a busy summer,

Another day, another few photos

12 04 2008

I was out for quite a while today waiting for planes to fly overhead, and NOTHING came by. I should know, as a former airport worker, that Saturdays are super low traffic days.. Here’s what I got instead. I wasn’t very happy with the day overall, because I got none of what I wanted to get, but I guess you can’t win them all.

More Nikon D300 afternoon fun

10 04 2008

Me and Keagan (www.keaganbrooks.com) went out shooting some stuff for a Design History class in school today.  I love my new camera :D

PS:  HAHA at all you flames fans, and HAHA at Calgary for getting a foot of snow last night.

First photos from my new Nikon D300

10 04 2008

I got my Nikon D300 this morning.  This is a huge upgrade from my previous cameras, the Nikon D50 and Nikon D2H.  Literally twice as good.  Naturally, once I got my hands on it I went straight out to take some photos.  You might recognize the barn from this post, it’s the same barn as the one in my first ever blog post.  The weather really added a cool feeling to the photo, it’s been really foggy here lately.

Off-topic:  SO SHARKS GO!  I hate you Flames.

You can count on lots more posts now that the season is over =)  School’s almost over too!  FINALLY.
